Reusable grocery bags

I'm quickly tiring of the plastic grocery bags taking over my house (and of course, our curbside recycling won't take them! Boo!), and I found this pattern and decided to give it a try. (That site has several cute bag/purse patterns, by the way!)

This was my trial run, and it seemed huge, but I used it yesterday and it seemed to be fine. I'll probably make a few different sizes, but here's what I've got for now.

Made from stash quilter's cotton, interfaced seersucker and an old pair of jeans:

And it's fully lined, so hopefully it will hold up nicely:

About Me

Boise, Idaho, United States
To live content with small means; to seek elegance rather than luxury; and refinement rather than fashion; to be worthy, not respectable; and wealthy, not rich; to study hard, think quietly, talk gently, act frankly; to listen to stars and birds, to babes and sages, with open heart; to bear all cheerfully, do all bravely, await occasion, hurry never; in a word, to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious grow up through the common. This is to be my symphony. William Henry Channing
